"Deer. Foxes. Small plants and trees."

"I can feel a sunny spot," exclaims Molly Buckingham as she walks blindfolded from the cooling gloom of the forest into the warmth of the glade.

"How does that spider walk on the water?" wonders Doug Brandt. His palm placed gently on a lily pad explains the surface tension of the water better than any book or lecture.

the sea in winter, ballerinas, airports, roses, empty churches

fellini's likes and dislikes, my favorite page from a biography by hollis alpert.
♥
♥
♥p.s. this page was recited when my sister, good friend aurora and I did a ritual in the backyard(before that we'd gone to the carnival at the park!) to ward off sadness and the evil from careless boys etc. the jasmine arch and camellias were in bloom so fragrant flower petals were thrown and stuffed in noses, I think the moon was full too. fellini is power!

unicorn perfume

went to see The Virgin Suicides at the New Beverly Cinema the other night. it was so good to see it on the big screen again. the details and girl items are what I love most about the movie, the boy going through cecilia's room to the bathroom, the sacred realm!, hypnotised by their lipstick and tampons and unicorn perfume. i hold my breath practically its so perfect to me.

Film in Sweden

I got his really cute book on swedish film, square and turquoise with the title in yellow on the spine, from Acres of Books, my favorite used bookstore in the world. my dads taken us here since we were little, its massive with dimly lit narrow corridors, the books stacked so high up you feel deliciously tiny. it smells like heaven (old book smell) and a wandering kitty lives there. you can get perfectly lost in there and out of this world cosy with all the musty dusty goodness. ive gotten so many books there over the years. they'll be closing in a few months for heartbreaking reasons. its sick that wonderful perfect places always have to disappear.
its july 3rd and there is glitter exploding in the sky already, it sounds like the revolutionary war with all the booms coming from all directions but the sky is pure exploding streaming colors.
