Part chocolate and part talcum powder.

Veronica Ganz by Marilyn Sachs. the best kids book ever. stuff about wandering drugstores and the perfect and content calm dreamy feelings while wandering! kids running wild outside in the city and parks. Imagining hiding out and being locked in Woolworths over night and exploring and the adventure. Like in From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I love those sort of scenarios. The liney illustrations by Louis Glanzman are so freaking good too. treasure.

En Kärlekshistoria/A Swedish Love Story

Aurora shared these film stills from A Swedish Love Story with me, they are so incredibly perfect. I haven't seen it yet but it already gives my heart that achey feeling.

millinery

When I saw this Degas painting of a millinery shop I just wanted to pop the hats into my mouth like candies.
the hat she chooses!
the hat scene in Cleo from 5 to 7 is so precious

How do you keep the moons in your cuticles so white and clear?

Truman Capote in his Brooklyn Heights apartment. Photo by Slim Aarons

"...we went up a musty staircase and found Truman in a room overwhelmed by wallpaper. He gave us ferocious hugs, sat us down to bourbon and Ritz crackers out of a box...I sipped my drink and cased his digs: a sepia print of the Colosseum above a disemboweled Singer; an antimacassar on a Morris chair; Andalusian draperies with tassels; ghostly cabbage roses on a threadbare carpet. The only things in sight conceivably his were a record player, a black-and-gold ashtray from the Rainbow Room, books, a portable Olivetti in its case, a photograph of himself, and the Webster's Unabridged against which it was propped."

Marisol movies

my mom and aunts love the Marisol movies, when they were kids Peru in the 1960s they wanted to look like her and had all her records and went to all of her movies. Rumbo A Rio is one of my favorites.
